What is MemoryStore and how is it different from traditional bookmarks?
Traditional bookmarks store dead links that break, vanish, or get forgotten in a messy list. MemoryStore is an active multimodal memory engine: when you save a link or reel, it transcribes speech, extracts key insights, archives a durable video copy, and organizes it into intelligent collections.
You can search your memories by concept (*"that video on habit loops"*), ask follow-up questions to your library, or pipe instructions directly into your coding IDE.
Which platforms and content types are supported?
MemoryStore supports Instagram Reels & Posts, YouTube Videos & Shorts, TikTok, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Reddit, PDFs, and standard web links/articles. You can save content via our iOS ShareSheet, Android native share menu, Chrome/Safari browser extensions, or directly within the web app.
How do I save content in 1 tap from mobile apps?
When viewing any reel or video on Instagram, YouTube, or your mobile browser, tap the native Share button, pick MemoryStore from your apps, and tap Save. You can optionally select which plugins to run (e.g. Video Downloader, Summary, Astrology) directly in the share drawer.
Can MemoryStore automatically download and attach high-definition video files?
Yes! When you enable the Universal Video Downloader or Reel Catcher superpowers, MemoryStore automatically extracts the highest available resolution MP4 video stream and attaches it to your card so you can play it seamlessly inside the app.
What happens if a creator deletes their post on Instagram or YouTube?
Because MemoryStore preserves media to permanent cloud storage (Cloudflare R2 and your connected Google Drive), you retain permanent personal access to the downloaded video bytes, audio transcript, and title even if the original social media creator removes or archives the post.
How do I connect my personal Google Drive?
Go to Settings → Storage → Connect Google Drive inside the MemoryStore app. Grant OAuth permission to store files. MemoryStore creates a dedicated, isolated /MemoryStore folder in your Drive. Your saved videos will back up automatically without consuming MemoryStore cloud limits.
Will saved videos fill up my phone's local storage?
No. Full videos and transcripts are stored in high-performance cloud storage and streamed on-demand. Only lightweight, compressed thumbnail images are cached locally on your device for instant offline responsiveness.
Can I export my memories, notes, and transcripts?
Yes. You have total data sovereignty. Navigate to Settings → Account → Export Data to receive a clean, structured JSON or CSV file containing all your links, full transcripts, generated summaries, and tags.
How does transcription work if a video has no subtitles?
MemoryStore's video worker extracts the raw audio track and runs neural speech-to-text models (including Gemini Flash and Whisper) to generate timestamped text. It transcribes natural speech accurately even over background audio, music, and accents.
What is "Thought Connect" semantic search?
Traditional search requires remembering exact words or names. Thought Connect uses high-dimensional vector embeddings (pgvector) to understand your intent. Searching for *"how to optimize database queries without extra memory"* will match videos about indexing, caching, and stream batching even if the word "database" was never in the title.
Can I bridge shared videos directly to my laptop coding assistant?
Yes! With our AI Connector (Settings → Integrations → AI Connector), you can connect your phone directly to Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity, or ChatGPT. When you see a coding walkthrough or bug report on your phone, share it to MemoryStore with the @antigravity or @claude target to dispatch video bytes and voice instructions straight to your IDE.
What are MemoryStore Plugins and Superpowers?
Plugins are specialized microservices that execute when you save content. Examples include Video Downloaders, Executive Summarizers, Action Item Extractors, and Astrology / Kundli chart generators. You can run individual plugins or chain them sequentially in the ShareSheet.
How do I build and publish my own plugin?
Anyone can build a plugin using their favorite language (Node.js, Python, Go). Follow our step-by-step Developer Documentation to register your webhook, verify HMAC-SHA256 signatures, stream live progress, and return native results.
Can anyone else see my saved memories or personal notes?
No. Your saved memories, transcripts, audio streams, and search queries are strictly private to your authenticated user account. MemoryStore does not sell user data, train public AI models on your private memories, or share personal libraries.
How do I permanently delete my account and data?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. When confirmed, all database rows, stored videos, vector embeddings, and cached media are permanently and irreversibly purged from our servers within seconds.
